Going from a rocky road spoa kit to a sky yj kit. I was a little apprehensive about starting this project because of some of the problems my buddies have had with their yj kits but I decided to go with the sky mfg. kit because of some of the write ups on it on this site and others.
List of mods to date:
-EZ Locker in front
-Sky YJ kit
-Race seats and harnesses
-31x10.5 bfg muds
-4.16 gears
-toyota driveshaft in rear (sweet)
-1600 is rebuilt and waiting for a weekend to put in
-power steering (tracker)
-full cage (pictures to come)
-Mile Marker pe-8000 winch (pictures to come)

BEFORE-

The sky kit getting painted up

YJ springs bought off ebay $20.00 (cleaned and repainted)

A box of goodies from trail tough-  1600 adapter, header, misc

Front suspension getting taken off

Rocky Road spring pads I will reuse

Notice the new shock mounts I will have to modify to work which you will see later

New shakles mounted up. They went on very nicley.

Springs attached

Rear suspension taken off

Rear springs mounted up. Like the front it went on pretty easily

Notice the rock 4x adapter for the yota shaft

My modified front shock mount to clear spring plates and get some good shock geometry. A little welding never hurt anybody

New bumper  with winch mount very nice

power steering

Say goobye to 1300

I'll try to get some other pictures up of the cage and the winch all mounted up but I ran out of time. I'll also take a couple pictures of the finished product on the trail workin' it and post them soon.

Looks great.   Look forward to seeing some trail pics of the new suspension in action.   Smiley  I'm jealous of the power steering.   Wink

looks good! i like the sky stuff a lot.. just wish their customer service was as good. i always make sure to go thru a vendor to get the best service from them...

why didnt you just cut the corner off the ubolt plate instead of modifying your shock mount?

those rat adapters make it nice, dont they? Grin

The shock,I thought was still going to be in the way of the u-bolt plate even with a cut so I just modified the mount. It works really well. I took it out this weekend(Thanksgiving) and tested it out. I was very impressed. I will try to get some pics up soon. And yes, the yota adaptors are sweet.
